General information for Shared environments

Preparing for a MultiPress Shared Cloud environment

Before installing or migrating MultiPress to a Shared Cloud environment, Dataline schedules a technical preparation meeting. During this meeting, we collect the information required to configure your cloud environment and ensure a smooth installation or migration.

Please prepare the information below before the meeting.

Project contacts

  • Responsible person
Who is responsible for the MultiPress installation and follow-up within your company?
Please provide the contact details of the project manager or main contact person.

  • External IT partner
Do you work with an external IT partner?
If so, please provide the contact details of the person we may contact when technical assistance is required.

Users and workstations

  • Operating systems
Do your employees use Windows computers, Mac computers or both?

Access to the MultiPress Shared Cloud environment is provided through Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and/or the MultiPress Web Client.

Mac users may need to install a Windows Remote Desktop application.

  • Concurrent users
How many users will work in MultiPress simultaneously?

  • User list
Please provide a user list, preferably as an Excel file, containing the following information for each user:

    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email address
    • Language and country

Web server connections

  • Internal web servers
Do you use the MultiPress web server for one or more of the following services?

    • Time registration
    • Dashboards
    • Production applications
    • Connectors
    • Other MultiPress web applications

Please also indicate whether the web server is used for:

    • Internal access only.
    • External access secured with an SSL certificate.

External web access

If external access to an internal web server is required, Dataline will configure a reverse proxy within the MultiPress Shared Cloud environment.

To complete this configuration, please provide a subdomain that can be used for the connection. This subdomain must point to your web server and the appropriate port.

Create a CNAME record that points to:

web-shared.multipress.cloud

Dataline will connect this subdomain to the reverse proxy and securely forward the traffic to your internal web server.
