Getting Started with Dashboards
Before we begin, there are a few important points to keep in mind:
- Module Availability: Ensure that the dashboard module is activated in your Multipress license before you start. If this module is not yet active, you can purchase this additional module.
- Standard Dashboard: Upon module purchase, a plug-and-play dashboard is provided. We strongly recommend starting with this. It will give you a solid foundation and insight into the capabilities of Multipress dashboards.
Customizing Your Dashboards
There are several ways to make adjustments to your dashboards, depending on your level of experience:
- Independent Modifications: If you've undergone training on dashboards, you can attempt to make changes on your own. It's recommended to always create a copy of the dashboard before making modifications.
- Support Ticket: Need assistance with modifying a dashboard? Submit a support ticket. Make sure to document the adjustments you wish to make accurately.
- Limited Support: Have questions about dashboard design? Contact our support department for advice and guidance. Please note that the support department will not create new dashboards but can offer guidelines and suggestions.
- Intensive Changes: For more extensive changes, it might be necessary to involve a project manager or instructor. They can assist with more complex modifications.
Creating New Dashboards
If you wish to create new dashboards, follow these steps:
- Define the Scope: Before you begin, clearly define the purpose of the new dashboard and the information it should contain.
- Independent Design: If you have experience and training, you can independently design a new dashboard. Be sure to create a copy before making significant changes.
- Support and Advice: Need help with design? Reach out to our support department for advice and guidance. Remember, the support department will not create new dashboards, but they can offer directions and recommendations.
- Project Manager or Instructor: For complex or extensive dashboards, involving a project manager or instructor might be necessary to assist with the development process.
Web Server Load
Keep in mind that dashboards are generated through the web, which means it places a load on the web server. When defining search queries, it's important to minimize the load on the server. Improperly formulated queries can lead to instability in the MultiPress server and web server application or require additional resources.
